Are Your Cleaning Products Sabotaging Your Efforts To Achieve A Bride Fit Body?

You may be unknowingly exposing yourself to chemicals or toxins that disrupt your endocrine system, which is a collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate your metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep, and mood.   Imagine after all the efforts you have made and habits you created to support a healthy & fit body, being sabotaged because of chemicals in your soaps, detergents, cleaners and air fresheners?   That would be a crying shame!

There’s a chemical called TRICLOSAN; it’s an active ingredient in countless products used in most homes.   It’s found in anti-bacterial soaps, hand sanitizers and personal care products.   Even low amounts are linked to thyroid disruption.   Your thyroid controls your metabolism in addition to regulating vital body functions.   Obviously we don’t want anything to disrupt hormones that control your ability to effectively use food for energy and cause problems with essential body functions!

You may believe that if you pay a lot of money for a skin care system, soaps or body lotion purchased in a reputable department store that it is a “good & safe” product.   After all the government would prohibit the use of dangerous chemicals in personal care products and companies wouldn’t use them if there was a risk of negative effects on peoples health, right?   Ummmm, NO!   This is NOT the case!   In fact, cosmetic companies may use any ingredient or raw material in their products without review or approval.   Did you know that there are over 1000 ingredients banned from use in cosmetics in Europe but only handfuls are prohibited by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration).   Shocking but true!   This is also true when it comes to additives in our food.

I want to give you information that will empower you to make conscience decisions when choosing products that you put on your skin, clean your house with, and detergents you use.   Whatever you apply to your skin and inhale through your nose or mouth enters your body and affects your blood, organs and hormones.

Most people are completely unaware that cleaning products, detergents and personal care products have any effect, good or bad, on how your body functions.   The bottom line is that you need to be the advocate for health and wellness for yourself.   The great news is there are reliable sources to help you navigate in the extremely confusing world of deciphering the “good” from the “bad” in regards to products we use every single day without a thought!   The Environmental Working Group’s, EWG, mission is to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment.   This is a priceless resource for learning more about everything from GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) in your food to what sunscreens are safe and effective.   Knowledge is power!   Once you have awareness and knowledge you can make conscience decisions when it come to creating your Bride Fit Home.

I’ve personally replaced candles and plug in air fresheners that were emitting toxic chemicals in the air my family breathes with pure essential oils.   I diffuse oils that create moods of calm, uplifting and fresh scents.   The therapeutic effects when inhaling, applying topically and ingesting pure essential oils are:

  1. Helps improve mood, emotions and libido
  2. Supports sleep quantity and quality
  3. Increases focus and alertness
  4. Reduces feelings of stress and anxiety

Regular air freshener spray, plug in burners and candles “perfume” the air of your home but wreak havoc on the air quality.   Be aware of products that say they contain essential oils on the label, more than likely they are using a perfume grade and not a therapeutic grade.   It’s so upsetting that companies use words like “natural,” “essential oils,” and “free & clear,” to evoke emotion in the customer to buy it but isn’t what it appears to be.   Knowledge is power ladies; step into your power, the information is available!
