Organic CBD Oil Pros and Cons

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the most promising chemicals found by recent research into medicinal uses for the cannabis plant. CBD is quite different than THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the more commonly known cannabis-based chemical. THC is responsible for the well-known high associated with marijuana and is useful for increasing appetite and fighting seizures. CBD, on the other hand, has no psychoactive properties and does not produce any kind of high. Instead, cannabidiol is used to treat a variety of ailments, as backed up by emerging, peer-reviewed science.

Organic CBD oil, in particular, can be used to fight anxiety, depression, pain, and a number of inflammation-based disorders including arthritis, lupus, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Every day, thousands of people use organic CBD oil to treat challenging physical and psychological disorders where conventional treatments have failed. If you’re considering incorporating organic CBD oil into your treatment regimen, consider these factors.

The Pros of Organic CBD Oil

Organic CBD Oil Won’t Get You High

As mentioned, cannabidiol does not produce the psychoactive effects that are generally expected from using cannabis. You will not feel giddy, strange, or disoriented, and CBD does not increase one’s appetite or cause “the munchies.” When used at the proper amount, CBD does not cause any mental impairment, making it a safer choice for most people. Similarly, CBD oil will not cause nervousness or anxiety, unlike regular marijuana.

Organic CBD Oil is a Proven Treatment for Anxiety

While THC can cause anxiety, CBD has been clinically shown to prevent and treat it. A 2015 article in the medical journal Neurotherapeutics states that cannabidiol can be used to treat multiple anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), and panic disorders. A 2011 study used CBD suspended in oil to treat anxiety related to public speaking and found that patients who were given the CBD were less anxious, more confident, and better able to perform in public.

Organic CBD Oil Effectively Treats Inflammation Disorders

There are many diseases and disorders caused by internal inflammation, and research suggests that organic CBD oil can help with all of them. That’s because CBD is an anti-inflammatory medication, which works by affecting the body’s nature endocannabinoid system.Patients suffering from inflammatory disorders, such as arthritis, vasculitis, allergies, gout, or even acne, will benefit from the use of organic CBD oil. And, according to a 2011 study, cannabidiol may even be effective at treating or preventing inflammation-based diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes.

Organic CBD Oil Treats Autoimmune Disorders

Since inflammation is at the root of most autoimmune disorders, it makes sense that CBD would be useful in their treatment, and scientific studies back this up. Researchers have found that cannabidiol is useful for treating autoimmune disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, lupus, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis. While doctors are looking for ways to harness the power of CBD into traditional forms of medication, patients are able to treat effectively themselves with organic CBD oil.

Organic CBD Oil Treats Pain

Emerging research suggests that cannabidiol is an excellent medication for pain without the side effects associated with conventional pain treatments such as opioids and NSAIDs. Studies have found that CBD treats headaches of all sorts, including migraine headaches and cluster headaches. Organic CBD oil can also treat more generalized pain, such as that caused by fibromyalgia or osteoarthritis. Perhaps the best part about using CBD oil to treat pain is that it often addresses the underlying cause of the pain at the same time, making it doubly effective.

Organic CBD Oil is Easy to Use

You don’t have to choke down pills, eat medicated candies, or go to the doctor’s office to use organic CBD oil. Some patients simply consume the oil at whatever dosage is recommended to them. Others mix it with food or beverages to make taking it even easier. If you’re using organic CBD oil for pain relief, it can even be applied topically, as CBD is lipid-soluble. Organic CBD oil is odor-free, virtually tasteless, and will not make a mess. This is especially helpful for patients who have limited mobility.

Organic CBD Oil Avoid Pesticides

One of the dangers of cannabis can be the pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals used in its growth and harvesting. While there is limited research on the effects of these chemicals, the safest route is to choose organic CBD oil. This is especially true if the CBD oil is being used medically to treat particularly vulnerable individuals.

CONS

Organic CBD Oil Contains No THC

While this was listed above as a “pro,” for some people the lack of psychoactive THC is a disadvantage of CBD. That’s because THC itself has its own medical benefits  which CBD lacks. CBD does not increase your appetite, so it is not useful for patients who need to put on weight. CBD is also not used to treat seizures, unlike THC, and may even interact with some anti-seizure medications. Organic CBD oil will not provide any of the euphoria associated with  cannabis. However, studies have shown that using CBD in conjunction with THC can increase the effects of both chemicals.

Organic CBD Oil May Cause Drowsiness

If you’re suffering from insomnia, organic CBD oil can be helpful, but if you’re trying to stay awake, CBD may make it harder. That’s because cannabidiol can cause drowsiness when used at high doses. If you want to try CBD but are afraid of the drowsiness, start with the smallest recommended dose and work your way up until it is effective. If you’re new to using organic CBD oil, avoid driving or operating other heavy machinery until you find the right dosage.

Organic CBD Oil Works Differently for Each Person

Cannabidiol is an emerging medicine that works by interacting with your body’s unique chemical makeup, including your own endocannabinoid system. Because of that, different people will need different amounts of cannabidiol to get their desired results. When first starting out, there is often a degree of trial and error until users find the dosage that works best for them. Fortunately, organic CBD oil has few side effects and it is easy to start with a low dose in a single spray and work your way up.

Organic CBD oil isn’t for everyone, but it is effective for tens of thousands of people suffering from a multitude of difficulties and disorders. Researchers continue to find new uses for cannabidiol, and pharmaceutical companies are starting to catch up with the science. In the meantime, organic CBD oil may be the solution to what ails you.

Interesting that you've failed to mention that in CBD research performed thus far as listed in FDA, shows liver damage to some from CBD oil. Even in Colorado, where all hemp products are legal, doctors monitor liver enzymes when prescribing CBD. Important "CON" yes?
