Christian Principles of Integrity & Business – Part 7

There are certain kind of people you want to avoid. Some of them may seem good on the surface. But upon further inspection, they may have poor motives or be likely to deceive you. Looking out for them will help you with business and relationships. Be cautious of Christians who have a sudden change in plans or say that God told them to do something. God rarely reverses his direction by giving counsel only to one person. Also be cautious of a man that vacillates, a double-minded man. Don’t put your confidence in someone who changes erratically. A true sign of a spiritual mentor is one of humility and not of arrogance, selfish ambition, and disorder. Also, God hates lying. Avoid Christians who over-spiritualize part of their job and ignore other spiritual principles. They exploit the talents of others in trying to serve the Lord.

Key Points:

  • 1Spiritual discernment requires that one heed the leading of the Holy Spirit and have knowledge of the written word of God.
  • 2Be cautious of the person who vacillates. Such a person often presents himself initially as having a clear sense of direction and with confidence in the validity of his plans.
  • 3A person who lies, does not know the vital importance of truth.
