Couples are Spending More than Ever to get Hitched

Modern couples getting married are spending more per guest than ever before. While the amount a couple spends varies according to where they live, the overall amount has increased. Even though the entire amount spent has risen, couples are choosing to invite fewer people to their weddings, creating more lavish affairs for more a select group. Spending per guest is up 22% to an average of $237 per person. Not surprisingly, the couple in Manhattan spends a significant amount more than the couple in Alaska. More people are choosing to get married outside the traditionally favorite season of summer. In terms of cost, people are still spending the most on the venue, with the cost of the engagement ring coming in at a distant second, and after comes the wedding dress. What hasn’t changed is parents helping to pay!
