PCOS My Fabulous Self

PCOS My Fabulous Self

You know the New Year is a great time to sit down with yourself and decide what this year is going to look like for you. Because I’m here to tell you, that you can have whatever you want. So let’s lay it out together, in small baby steps…Grab a piece of paper and a pen right now.

Now fold your piece of paper in half..the long way. On the left hand column, at the top, write down “What’s Not Working for Me”. Then on the top of the right hand column, write down “My Fabulous Self”.  Now it’s time to fill in the left hand column.

Let me give you some examples of some things that might show up in the left hand column. “ Don’t like my body”…”I am too heavy”…”Hate my job”…”Can’t get pregnant”…”No time for myself”…”Crave sugar and I can’t stop”…”Have horrible PMS”…”I am so depressed”…”Hot flashes or night sweats”, “I know I need to exercise but I never do it”…  Are you getting the idea?

Let’s stop right here for a moment. Because your list might feel a bit overwhelming right about now. I want to share with you a quote from Mike Dooley,. He says “Would you believe that there is nothing about your life today, not even what hurts, that you won’t eventually appreciate, with happy tears running down your face? Nothing;” because it’s what’s not working that helps you transform your life.

Now let’s get to the fun part!…. on the right hand column, write down the opposite of what you wrote on the left hand side. So if you wrote down “I don’t like my body”…then on the right hand side you’ll write “I love my body”…if you wrote down “I am so depressed”…write down on the right hand side “I am so happy”. You can pause this video again now and finish up the right hand side of your list.

It’s time to tear your piece of paper in half, down the long way, in-between the columns. You’re going to keep the right side with all the good stuff, and you’re going to release the left side of the page, either by setting it on fire and releasing the ashes to the sky, or simply by throwing it away…maybe tearing it up into little tiny pieces. Do some sort of ritual around releasing the yucky stuff.

Take the right hand side or your paper, the Fabulous Self List, and put it inside a journal. Every day pull this list out and read it to yourself in the mirror. Because thoughts become things. And this happens by replacing the negative thoughts with the positive ones. By reading this 1-2 times to yourself every day in the mirror, you will begin to believe in the fabulous new you. And if you wink to yourself in the mirror at the end it will make you smile. So your to-do this week, is to make this list, read it to yourself 1-2 times every day in the mirror – it’s actually kind of hard at first.

And remember to wink at the end because happiness is key to health. We’re here for you.
