Step #2 to heal your hormones

Today is Step #2 to heal your hormones.

Yesterday I shared Step #1. Be sure to go back and read the post if you missed it because each one builds on the last.

Let’s imagine for a moment that now you know ALL of your symptoms – one of my clients just sent me her Symptom Assessment score yesterday and was surprised by all the boxes she checked. She had no idea so many things were not right in her body.

Step #2 is Food As Medicine.

This may sound awful…food as medicine – what?!

But if you think about it, food can either harm your body or heal your body – either balance your hormones or imbalance your hormones.

Very few “foods” are considered neutral, if any.

You want to start using food to first, heal your hormones, and then second, stay balanced.

There are many aspects of food that affect your hormones and how you feel… like when you eat, and how long you go between meals.

The composition of your meal, i.e. what’s in it.

How your body responds to the food you’re eating today – some days your digestion and adrenal status may be more compromised because you didn’t get a good night’s sleep, or you worked out too hard, for example.

So ask yourself a few questions around the food that you’re eating:

  1. How do I feel when I eat this?
  2. Does it give me energy or make me feel tired?
  3. Am I building a hormonally-balanced meal?
  4. Am I spacing my meals so I stay balanced?
  5. Am I relaxed when I’m eating, stressed out, eating on the go?

These questions will help you use food more strategically to heal.
