The Pumpkin Diet

Pumpkin is a low-starch vegetable and will not cause a quick spike in blood sugars. Pumpkin has low amounts of sugar and it fills your stomach to prevent cravings. You can also eat pumpkin seeds that have antiseptic assets. Steam or bake your pumpkin cubes and season with nutmeg and cinnamon to get the best beta-carotene properties from the pumpkin.

The Pumpkin Diet is designed to help you lose up to 8 kilograms in a two week period as well as provide you with many medicinal substances such as pro-vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamins C, PP, and B vitamins. There is more than five times the pro-vitamin A in pumpkins than in carrots and three times more than in beef liver. Those with vision problems should drink pumpkin juice. Pumpkins also have vitamin T which speeds up your metabolism and vitamin K which help normal blood clotting. Pumpkin also has a choleretic effect and has trace elements and minerals.

To use the pumpkin diet you must first follow certain rules. These rules limit salt, and sugar. You will need to drink mineral water, preferably non-carbonated and unsweetened teas. Start off with a salad made from vegetables, fruits and pumpkin cubes. It”s great to snack on raw vegetables and fruits while you are on this diet, but after 6:00 pm stop eating!

As an example of the pumpkin diet, on the first day eat a pumpkin salad for breakfast. Cube the pumpkin; add grated carrots and some lemon juice for taste. For lunch try pumpkin soup made with, zucchinis and carrots. You can use peppers and potatoes if you want. The soup should be thick. When the soup is finished add sliced tomatoes, onions and a bit of cheese. Baked pumpkin is your dinner dish. Wrap the pumpkins cubes in cloves and bake until soft enough to eat. You can add cheese and greens plus cinnamon and lemon juice.

To vary the diet try salad and pumpkin porridge, potato pancakes with pumpkin, and dinner could be a baked apple with baked pumpkin. You can find more interesting pumpkin recipes on line or in cookbooks, but make sure you are baking or using the pumpkin without butters, salts or sugars. If you follow this diet for at least one week, you are guaranteed to lose weight. To make sure you are not hungry and craving other foods, drink plenty of tea and water and keep the pumpkin benefits flowing.
