The Truth About Diet Patches

Obesity is a common problem that can lead to many health complications like heart diseases, diabetes and high blood pressure. More and more people are now realizing the importance of this disease and are opting for various techniques like diet pills, exercise and surgery to lose weight. Unfortunately, many people end up spending a lot of money on fraudulent and ineffective diet methods that do more harm than good.

Diet Patches — How Do They Work?

Oral drugs generally become less effective by the time they enter the blood stream as they are broken down in the stomach, intestine or liver. A diet patch is a weight loss method that is plastered on the skin for effecting weight loss. Due to this, the rate of absorption is better as the chemicals are delivered directly into the bloodstream. Diet patches are designed to increase metabolic activity to burn fat. This is done by stimulating the thyroid gland. By enhancing the body’s metabolism, food is converted to energy instead of fat. Enhanced metabolism also helps the body absorb more food and get rid of it faster.

To apply the patch, you need to first clean and dry the area of the skin where the patch has to be applied. Then you need to apply the patch and leave it on for some period. The ingredients of the patch will be absorbed transdermally over a period of 24 hours.

Diet patches contain chemicals that are rendered directly into the blood stream through the skin. They may contain chemicals such as zinc pyruvate, lecithin and L-Carnitine. Zinc Pyruvate is believed to help burn fat, increase endurance and decrease blood cholesterol. While Lecithin is responsible for breakdown of fats and cholesterol, L-Carnitine is responsible for burning of fat. Ingredients like hydroxycitric acid, chromium and other natural compounds can also be used in diet patches for appetite suppression, fat burning and boosting metabolism.

Benefits Of Diet Patches

Diet patches have many benefits over traditional methods of weight loss. Weight loss patches can work all day long to burn fat and reduce appetite. They can also be used while you are sleeping. You can lose weight without having to endure any starvation diets or undergo rigorous exercise schedules. They are very simple to use and can be repeatedly applied for several weeks for satisfactory results. These patches not only help you to reduce fat but also supply the body with energy.

Side Effects Of Diet Patches

Weight loss patches have few side effects. The adhesive may lead to skin irritation in people who have a sensitive skin condition. Prolonged use of such patches may result in diseases like hyperthyroidism. Diet patches are not suitable for pregnant women and people with illnesses such as high blood pressure, thyroid disorders and diabetes. To achieve maximum benefits from these patches, one needs to eat a well balanced diet, as well.

A diet patch initiates the process of weight reduction naturally by enhancing the body’s metabolism process to provide weight reduction in a shorter period of time. There are many websites today that promise cheap and quick results with these patches. But it is advisable to consult your doctor before using a weight loss patch to ensure that it is suitable for you. There are a number of factors such as medical conditions, allergies to drugs and present body weight that need to be considered before trying out this method of weight reduction.
