Too Much Folic Acid in Pregnancy Tied to Raised Autism Risk in Study

The article states that women are encouraged to get more folic acid in their diet to protect against defects. Author David Thompson says that study found that folic acid now is linked to autism. Luckily, that’s only if you take in too much of the acids. The article says research found that mothers with too much B12 in their system were 3 times more likely to have a child with autism.
Thompson exercises caution for mothers who go on folate and B12 supplements because too much can ultimately harm the child. Though Thompson does not rule out not taking supplements as that taking “vitamins is overall decreasing your child’s risk.” The article does not approach how much is too much.
