Would Jesus think about anything that was not the truth? NO
Would Jesus think about anything that was negative? NO
Jesus is our model for living The Totally Fit Life and Jesus is also our model for living Mentally Fit.
Mental fitness is the ability to be intentional with your thoughts. The discipline to monitor all your thoughts so that they align with God’s word.
“I first must change your mind, before I can change your body long term.” Coach Don Nava
Decide TODAY that you are leaving negative thinking behind and starting on the path toward POSITIVE BIBLICAL THINKING. “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
The modern Christian has succumbed to secularization. He accepts religion — its morality, its worship, its spiritual culture; but he rejects the view which sets all earthly issues through the filter of the kingdom.
The Secular Mind vs. The Kingdom Mind
A Secular Mindset
To think within a frame of reference bounded by the limits of our life on earth— it keeps a person’s reasoning rooted in this worldly system.
Kingdom Mindset
To accept all things as related directly or indirectly to man’s eternal destiny as a redeemed and chosen child of the Kingdom.
Why is it so much easier to have a negative attitude than a positive one? What’s inside of us that just naturally yanks us toward the negative side? Does being a Christian mean we get an automatic “pass” on depression, negative thinking and attitudes? Doesn’t it mean we shouldn’t be experiencing these things?
Simply put — negative attitudes come from negative thoughts — and those come from reactions to negative behavior/attitude, our own or others. Around and around the cycle goes. So where is it coming from? And, what can we do about it?
Transform Your Thinking: Transform Your Life
Well, we know that this negativity isn’t coming from God. There is nothing negative about Him!
Our negative actions and words are coming from our own negative thoughts. However, it is possible to control our thoughts, regardless of what we’ve been led to believe.
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV)
And the very first thing you can do is the moment a negative thought comes into your mind, purposefully replace it with a positive one. At first, this may take a lot of work, but valuable work, because chances are, we have a lot more negative thoughts in our head than positive ones.
The bible is a Positive Mental Attitude book. It is peppered throughout with a positive message of hope and freedom. Probably the most quoted text to reinforced the positive message in the bible is Philippians 4:8 Whatever is TRUE – Whatever is NOBLE – Whatever is RIGHT – Whatever is PURE – Whatever is LOVELY- Whatever is ADMIRABLE – if anything is EXCELLENT or PRAISEWORTHY – THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS…….
Once a person is Mentally Fit then “truth based thinking” is natural. God’s word is the final filter of every thought. He naturally asks himself this question whenever a questionable thought pops into his mind: “Does this thought line up with what the Bible says?”
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Information + Application = Transformation.
