A Cup of Tea Will Keep You Fit

In an effort to stay physically fit and healthy, people will go to great lengths.  Unfortunately, not all of us have the ability or the time to be able to take all the precautions that are necessary in order for us to maintain our health to an optimum level.  That doesn’t mean, however, that we should simply allow our health to slide as a result of our busy lifestyle.  Drinking tea takes no effort on your part and can help you stay as fit and healthy as possible.

One of the things that you can do is to drink tea on a regular basis.  Although not all tea is created equal, many teas have surprisingly healthy properties that will assist you in all of your fitness goals.  One of the best teas that you can possibly drink is green tea, the type that comes from Asia.  As a matter of fact, green tea has been used by the Asians in Chinese medicine for close to 5000 years because of its unique health properties.

One of the main reasons why green tea is consumed is because it helps to regulate our metabolism.  There are several different natural chemicals that are available in green tea which can give our metabolism a boost.  It is also one of the world’s most excellent antioxidants and can clean our body of some of the free radicals that tend to collect and damage our cells.  As a matter of fact, many people consider good health to start with the drinking of green tea because it keeps us in balance.

Almost any herb can be made into a tea and each one will bring its own unique health qualities to the table.  Black tea is something that was considered to be not as healthy as green tea for many years.  However, black tea has been found to contain its own version of antioxidants.

Benefits of Tea Drinking:
·                 Green Tea reduces risk for skin cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and esophageal cancer.
·                 Green tea, black tea and oolong tea reduce the risk for hypertension, lower LDL cholesterol, and raise HDL cholesterol.
·                 A cup of tea contains ½ to 1/3 the amount of caffeine found in one cup of coffee.

So make sure that you are making green tea as well as a variety of other teas a part of your everyday life.  Not only will they help you to maintain your fitness goals, many of them will help to calm the mind and to make you healthy from the inside out.
