Between 120/80 and 140/90 is a pre hypertensive stage. Pre hypertension can often be controlled by natural measures like exercise, low salt intake, stop smoking, lower cholesterol, lose weight, eat vegetables etc.
How will you know that you have high blood pressure?
High blood pressure typically has no symptoms at all, because of this it can be referred to as a silent killer. Everyone should be have their blood pressure checked when they have their annual physical. Many drug stores now have free blood pressure cuffs available for your use back near the pharmacy area. Although you may be asymptomatic, there are some signs to watch for.
Hypertension Common Signs:
Headache
Nosebleed
Breathlessness
Tinnitus (Ringing in Ears)
Sleepiness
Confusion
Fatigue
Vomiting
Low Libido (Lack of Sexual Desire)
Remember to check your blood pressure at least once a year. If you are having any of the above signs, make an appointment with your physician. High blood pressure is treatable. If left untreated it can lead to a multitude of health issues.
