Couples’ Pre-Pregnancy Caffeine Consumption Linked to Miscarriage Risk

Caffeine consumption could affect fertility. The National Institue of Health (NIH) and Ohio State Univeristy performed a study that looked into miscarriage risks in early pregnancy. Caffeine was one of factors that showed an increase risk for miscarriage. When the women drank more than 2 cups of coffee in the weeks leading up to conception there was a higher risk for miscarriage. What is also interesting is that increased caffeine in men also showed an increase risk for miscarriage in the first seven weeks of pregnancy.
