Hormone Trifecta Day 3: Heal Fatigue

Robin Nielsen:
This is Day Three of the Hormone Trifecta, healing anxiety, weight gain and fatigue. And today is all about healing fatigue and I am so glad that you’re here and I just want to give a shout out to all of the women who have shown up over these last couple of days. I’ve really enjoyed seeing you here. I really enjoyed seeing your comments and knowing your struggles. It really helps me to better support you and I just want to say congratulations for choosing you.

I just want to breathe into that for a minute. So powerful that you are choosing yourself. You are learning how to become the CEO of your own health. I just want to say congratulations. That’s a big, big deal. The reason it’s such a big deal is because you are in charge. There’s no one else who can help you heal. It’s all you. I can give you some guidance, but you actually have to do the work and when you do it, it is profound and powerful. So I’m going to tell you what we’re going to learn today and then I have a very special guest who is going to join us first thing to give you a little bit of inspiration. She’s just going to share her journey with you and I think you’re going to love it.

I’d love to hear from you. Please post right here in the comment section right now where you’re joining in from. I love to see all the places that we’re coming together from. Today we’re going to cover really assessing your fatigue. We’re going to review the assessment that I put together for you and just see where you fall in that range of symptoms and then I’m going to share with you the 14 major things that cause fatigue. There are way more but the 14 major things, I bet that you’ll be able to identify with many of them. Then the top five, only five, fatigue busters that can have a huge impact on your life. Huge. So we’re going to go over all that in just a moment and if you have a minute, in our Facebook group right here, I actually did a poll and it was a poll on how many of you are experiencing weight gain, anxiety and fatigue. Only 28 women said that they’re experiencing fatigue.

I can only surmise that’s because you’re too tired to take the poll, but if you have time and you feel energized enough, go take the poll and let me know where you are on that. It’s under announcements and you can take the poll and let me know because I know that weight gain and fatigue can really go together. So as a result, I know more of you are experiencing fatigue because that was a really big, big deal for me and I’ll share more about that in just a little bit. But first I want to bring on the beautiful Nicole Daniels. It’s so wonderful to have you here today and I know your schedule is so busy, so we’re really grateful.

Nicole Daniels:
Oh, thank you. Thank you so much.

Robin Nielsen:
And tell us where you’re joining in from.

Nicole Daniels:
I live in Baltimore, Maryland.

Robin Nielsen:
That’s right. Oh my goodness! And what’s the weather like there today? Are you starting to get some spring yet?

Nicole Daniels:
A little bit, it was really sunny today in the 60s, so I actually went walking today.

Robin Nielsen:
Oh, awesome, and you’re going to share why that’s such a big deal in just a minute. So I’d love for you to share with everybody your story. So, if you can go back before you were feeling a little bit better and tell us some of the things that you struggled with.

Nicole Daniels:
Oh my goodness, what did I not struggle with is the question. Weight gain or trying to lose weight or I would lose weight and then regain and of course you always gain more at that point. Let’s see, a lot of issues with sleeping. I would always be tired, actually, between like 1:00 PM and now, so the fact that I’m even up is great. I would want to take a nap all the time, always sleeping and then I’ll go to sleep really easily and then I’ll wake up at like 2:00 AM and I’m wide awake, “Like, oh, is it time to go to work?” You know, and it’s not. So that would be a challenge. Then I had a lot of issues with mobility. Maybe three years ago I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both of my knees. The right one being much worse than the left one. I started having a mobility issues with that which is an issue for me because I like to hike and walk and things like that. So, I started using a cane toward the end of last year because I was just in so much pain in my knees. That’s kind of where I was up until working with you in January.

Robin Nielsen:
Yeah, so weight was an issue for you and it’s interesting because you had the fatigue issue in the afternoon and then you had the really bus,y kind of anxiety issue in the middle of the night going on. When you say with your osteoarthritis that you know, you’re an active person and you wanted to be able to walk, well, that’s putting it mildly, right? Osteoarthritis is also painful. It’s very painful. Which pain is very stressful on the body.

Nicole Daniels:
Oh yeah, and then you can’t sleep, which is not helping you heal as well. So, you know, one was just compounding on another. Hirsutism, I’ve dealt with that, really, really heavy periods, irregular periods, and then, you know, the first mode of “help” is always, “oh, well, just go on the pill.”
