Sleepwalking is a type of behavior disorder that happens during deep sleep. The result of sleepwalking is walking or doing something while actually asleep. Sleep walking is found to be much more common to occur with children than with adults. Another factor that causes sleep walking is sleep deprivation. While this behavior disorder is called sleep walking, it usually involves more than just walking. Some people have left the house and driven while they were sleep walking.
People begin to sleep walk when they are in a state of low consciousness, with performance of activities that are usually performed during a state of full consciousness. These activities can be as simple as sitting up in bed, walking to a bathroom, and cleaning, or as dangerous as cooking, driving, making violent gestures, grabbing at objects that are not actually there, or even committing homicide.
Usually, there is no physiological forewarning that shows a sleepwalking episode is about to happen. There is no twitching, no rise in heart rate or breathing, immediately prior to the start of an episode, and there is no substantial variations in brain waves; there is just soft, slow-wave sleep until sudden central nervous system arousal prods the heart rate to accelerate and the sleepwalking commences.
Sleepwalking is more than just walking; sometimes you can end up doing some surprising things. #HealthStatus
