Healthy Vitamins Your Body Needs

Vitamins are vital to your health. That’s a fact. However, they need to be consumed in measured quantities, otherwise they could make you sick or even cause death.

They can either be obtained from natural food or food supplements. Natural food is generally the preferred route, however, as some studies suggest that vitamins are absorbed more efficiently when consumed through your meals. So if you can cook your own food or order from a healthy meal delivery service such as Plated, you’d probably be much better off. More so, vitamins come in two different types: fat soluble and water soluble. Both are necessary for our bodies to function properly.

Vitamin A, D, E, and K fall under the fat soluble vitamins which can be found in foods like carrots, liver, sweet potatoes, wheat germ oil, kale, and broccoli. Daily intake of 100g for each is sufficient to prevent health issues like blindness, back pain, fatigue, and easy bruising.

Vitamin C and 8 types of B vitamin together form the water soluble ones. You need to eat foods like eggs, soybeans, mushrooms, green beans, avocado, broccoli, bananas, and spinach in quantities of 75g-100g daily to attain these vitamins. Since these foods cannot be stored in the body tissues like the fat soluble ones, one needs to supplement them regularly.

Due to the depleted state of our current soils and the distances foods travel before they reach you in the market, they may lack all the required body nutrients which is why you need to take multi-vitamin supplements.

However, you need to consult a health provider before starting on the supplements to avoid consuming the vitamins in excess. It is something that can be harmful to your wellbeing. Note that excess consumption of vitamin E is linked to increased risks of getting certain cancers.

You should also keep in mind that if you eat a balanced diet daily, you will get all the required vitamins which then render supplementing non-beneficial. Most people, however, don’t eat balanced diets on a daily level as required, so taking products is a necessity for them.

Yes, daily consumption of vitamins is essential to your life, but you need to eat them in the right quantities. So, go ahead and enjoy them responsibly.
